About Us

EcoK9 Consulting was founded by Dr Carly Starr, a nationally certified dog trainer, with a PhD in animal ecology and behaviour. Carly has worked for over two decades as an ecologist, educator, consultant, and senior manager for international and national conservation organisations, government, NRM bodies, and consultancy companies solving complex environmental problems and carrying out threatened species projects. She has extensively published in peer-reviewed journals, books, and conference proceedings and currently sits as a scientific advisor for World Heritage Areas, board of directors of large conservation organisations, and on ecological expert panels in Queensland. EcoK9 Consulting brings together extensive expertise in ecology, animal behaviour, environmental management and problem solving, with expertise in dog training- resulting in the deployment of highly skilled dogs by trainers with extensive knowledge of the environmental sector.
